Passport - Child under the age of 16 - Renewal - BY MAIL ONLY

Please note an identity certification and a passport certification are different notarial acts. For passport certification, please send your request by post.

The verification of identity is conducted in accordance with the Department of Foreign 
Affairs and Trade policy for verification of identity and making of endorsed copies of 
documents.

For a Driving Licence Kit or an Affidavit, please refer to the specific service information listing.

Witnessing of Signature inc. Statutory Declaration

This service is provided by mail only. 

Legalisation of signatures and/or seals on Australian public documents. 

An Apostille is an official seal which is fixed to the back of the original document.

The apostille will be issued within 48 hours.

Apostilles and authentication - BY MAIL ONLY

The Australian Embassy can witness signatures and endorse photos for drivers' licence renewal forms for all states and territories (For Queensland and New South Wales and Victoria please refer to the other section). 

The Australian Embassy does NOT renew the licences. 

Please contact the relevant road authority of your state or Territory in Australia to obtain the necessary forms for renewing your licence and determine how you will forward the documentation to Australia while residing overseas. 

The service cost is actually the consular service fee. The fee is per one signature.

This can only be performed on Friday mornings between 10 and 11 am.

Driving Licence Renewal for all states except QLD, VIC & NSW

Passport - Adult - Renewal - BY MAIL ONLY

The Certificate of Non-Impediment to Marriage is a document stating that there are no laws prohibiting an Australian citizen marrying in the country of choice. The certificate does not state whether the applicant is, or has been, previously married. The single status document is another document which must be applied for in Australia. The Certificate of Non-Impediment to Marriage is issued in French.

It takes up to 10 working days to obtain the document once the application has been lodged at the Embassy. It can be collected or be sent to your home address which you would have nominated.

Certificate of Non-Impediment to Marriage

FOR URGENT TRAVEL ONLY, following the loss or the theft of your passport.

Getting an emergency passport can take up to 48 hours.

Please provide your full name, date of birth, lost/stolen passport number (if applicable), address, telephone number and email address in the comments section to consular.paris@dfat.gov.au 

Please refer to our website www.france.embassy.gov.au to download the PC8 application form (otherwise you will do it at the Embassy) and bring: two passport photos (we also have a photomaton availbale), the application form, any other ID documents you may hold and your credit card as payment by cash or cheque is no longer possible. 

This travel document will contain only 8 visa pages and the validity will be limited to a period of  seven months.

If travel is via or to a country other than Australia, please contact the respective embassy of that country for entry and visa requirements. The Australian Embassy cannot provide visa information.

The Australian Embassy can witness signatures and endorse photos for drivers' licence on renewal forms from NSW and Queensland and Victoria.
